Our power was out all last night and most of yesterday. Apparently there was some kind of accident/problem up the road a bit, and half of our hotel and surrounding buildings had power and half did not. (Since it was Saturday, the half that did have power still had loud enough music to make up for those that did not, and sleeping with an open window wasn't very easy!)
Some areas of Ukraine struggle with power, but we haven't had to do so until now. They brought in a generator for some of the day, but it was off all night.
So we were a bit sweaty and had to toss the meat and dairy in our fridge. Oh, and cold showers (well, that was a bit nice!).
But it was good timing because we were preparing to leave in a few days and didn't have a lot of food to toss. Plus, today is Fast Sunday so we didn't really miss what we lost. By dinnertime the power was back on and we had a potato, zucchini, and onion hash with some toast and peaches. Deluxe!
